Few things in life are certain and that in itself can be daunting - particularly when you're having, or have had, a challenging time. Fortunately, change is certain and often therapy can act as a catalyst for positive change.
My core interests are: self esteem/confidence and relationships. Who we are, and what we do, not only defines us to others but also to ourselves. Relationships either make the world a happier place, or not. We are all unique, as are our relationships. On that basis, I endeavour to provide bespoke in-person counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples face-to-face in the New Haw, Woodham, West Byfleet area, Surrey and, of course, online to everyone.
Generally,what kind of counselling and psychotherapy methods do I offer?
For over 15 years, I have been offering clients face-to-face sessions and SKYPE; Zoom, WhatsApp, FaceTime or telephone counselling sessions (nationally and internationally). During the coronavirus lockdowns, I offered online sessions to new and existing clients. Currently, I offer in-person or online counselling sessions and offer a combination of both by agreement to suit client requirements.
In the past, I worked for an international Employee Assistance Programme as an Adviceline Consultant, Trainer and Senior Clinician - and I still work for this EAP as an Affiliate Counsellor. My experience of working online internationally and nationwide, prior to the coronavirus pandemic, has informed and developed my current practice.
I also offer clinical supervision to qualified and trainee therapists or those working in caring professions. I am an Integrative-Relational Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with experience of working as a counsellor and/or as a senior clinician with clients in public and private sector settings, including: EAPs; Motor Insurance; the NHS and Private Medical Insurance.

Who am I, what's my background?
My name is Irena P. Biedka-Whitton - BACP Accredited Member. I was born in Newport, South Wales, although my heritage is Polish. I had a successful career in London, as an editorial/graphic designer, prior to becoming a psychotherapeutic counsellor. For over 14 years, I have been a practising psychotherapeutic counsellor in Surrey. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. I am interested in working with clients from all backgrounds.
I work with individuals and couples on an open-ended basis - or for an agreed time period eg 6, 8, 10 or 12 sessions - with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. I also have many years experience in bereavement counselling, working with individuals and couples.
